Development Office
The New School seeks a Coordinator with proven computer knowledge, including Excel and Word, proven experience in Excel spreadsheet applications, knowledge of letter writing styles, general correspondence, data management, mail merges. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Special Events and take direction from the Assistant Director and Manager of Special Events.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain and organize special event databases.
· Create invitations and process mailings and track responses.
· Create large development fundraising mail merges including letters, labels and envelopes.
· Create and maintain excel spreadsheets for expenses, guest list management; includes de-duping, organizing and sorting.
· Create filing systems and the general order of the office.
· Monitor telephone lines and respond to public inquiries regarding events.
· Data entry, guest event tracking
· Initiate telephone contact with donors, follow-up and confirmation.
· Compile Expense Reports, route invoices and track budgets.
· Maintain stationery and office supply inventory and order as appropriate.
· Represent the Office of Special Events in planning and staffing events with staff from other University departments and academic divisions.
· Track attendance of guests and enter in Banner system.
· Coordinate initial event discussion meetings among the office of development and alumni relations.
Requirements:
· Proficiency required in word processing, spreadsheet and database software (Microsoft Word and Excel at a minimum). Banner a plus.
· Solid oral and written communication skills.
· Attention to detail and the ability to coordinate numerous projects simultaneously.
· Availability for day work and evening functions.
· At least two years experience in data coordination is preferred
· Testing is required for computer proficiency
