Everest College – San Bernardino, CAGeneral Duties:• Provide general oversight, management and direction of academic program. • Plan, oversee and evaluate the activities of faculty and students.• Implement Retention Plan and ensure an acceptable rate of student retention in accordance with Institution, Corporate and accreditation guidelines.• Conduct departmental operations according to school and Company policy and procedures, as well as meet accreditation requirements.• Evaluate and resolve student inquiries and issues, ensuring appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student, Company, and/or regulatory agencies.• Assist Academic Dean with departmental curricula review, program development and textbook review.• Maintain departmental files to include a course syllabi master book and all course tests, quizzes, projects, and test keys.• Assist in interviewing and orienting new department faculty members.• Serve as mentor in the implementation of effective teaching skills.• Assist in preparation of departmental budget.• Assist with implementation and evaluation of programs and activities to ensure that the Advisory Committee functions in a manner consistent with accreditation standards.• Maintain overall student satisfaction levels at 85% or higher.• Instruct classes as assigned and fill in for absent instructors if necessary (provided credentials meet Company, State and accreditation standards for the program).• Schedule and post office hours to provide any needed academic support, tutoring and/or assistance.• Participate in faculty meetings, orientation, graduation exercises, and other functions.• Ensure that all educational activity is conducted in a legal and ethical manner.Requirements:• 2-3 years’ hands-on management experience.• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years experience in Criminal Justice field• Good management, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits including a comprehensive healthcare program and 401(k) plan.
