DeVry University seeks a Director of Admissions for the South Florida region, which includes a campus in Miramar and University Centers in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. This position works directly with candidates for admission to DeVry University who either have, or are preparing to graduate, from high school while also managing Educational Advisors in a similar role.
Under the supervision and direction of the Regional Dean of Enrollment Management, the South Florida Director of Admissions is actively engaged in the process of recruiting qualified students while providing leadership for the Department of Enrollment Management, leading a team of Educational Advisors. Responsibilities include the implementation of student enrollment strategies and the management of resources in order to meet performance expectations. This position provides leadership in the execution of the business plan, the control of expenses and other managerial functions, as needed.
Essential functions of this position include:
Responsible for contacting, interviewing, enrolling, and assisting candidates for admission
Develops and supervises a team of regional Educational Advisors who assist graduating high school students as they prepare for a DeVry University education
Manages student recruitment activities, including recruiting, hiring, motivating and supervising staff
Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures
Meets or exceeds the enrollment goals and objectives for each term
Profitably manages the assigned region while working collaboratively with the New Student Program team and in tandem with leadership within the Department of Enrollment Management and other departments of the University
Provides leadership in the preparation and execution of the business plan, cost control and other managerial functions
Requirements for this position include:
A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree desirable
A proven track record of successful sales with a minimum of eight full years of direct sales experience (preferable in education sales)
A willingness to employ exceptional discretion, acumen, sound judgment, and sound ethics consistently
Exceptionally strong negotiation skills with a strong work ethic
A record of quantifiable successful results in a position requiring leadership capabilities and the solid ability to lead, mentor, train and develop subordinates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, impeccable integrity and solid business acumen
Fully proficient in the use of personal computers and MS Office Suite-this position requires a significant amount of time working with a personal computer, and telephone, on a daily basis
