Data Delivery ETL Developer - 08315

Overview The purpose of the Data Delivery ETL Developer position is to provide support in all aspects of the design, mapping, development, and testing of data movement for the data warehouse environment, with emphasis on the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) process. Persons in this position must understand the development and maintenance techniques surrounding data movement between different target and source platforms using Oracle as the backend database and Cognos Data Manager as the ETL tool. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct project-specific data analysis - analyzing & mapping required data &supporting all facets of ETL Process Create and maintain ETL specifications (e.g., source-to-target maps) Develop, test, and maintain the code required to move data Support the data movement processes during the application development life-cycle Participate in production on-call support rotation schedule for ETL processing and completion Conduct performance tuning of the ETL process Interact with business and information technology personnel Assist with estimates for the ETL process and suggest improvements Maintain documentation on procedures associated with this position Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven, extremely complex, and rapidly changing environment
Bachelors with 3-5 years experience or equivalent combination. Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in at least 2 of the following: data collection, technical support, source-to-target mappings, or database administration. Demonstrated proficiency developing technical skills and performing problem solving. Demonstration of excellent technical, verbal and written communications skills and ability to multi-task within a team-oriented environment Desired Qualifications Proficiency developing and supporting extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes Experience with Cognos Data Manager or similar ETL tool PL/SQL coding experience Experience & knowledge of data warehousing initiatives or decision support systems in higher education environment Exposure to PeopleSoft or other complicated ERP system would be helpful Experience with dimensional modeling would be helpful Experience with BI tools such as Hyperion/Brio would be helpful No visa sponsorship is provided for this position.
