Dean - Continuing Education Programs
Description:Objectives of the position -The Dean assists the Vice President with the effective administration of academic programs within Kaplan Continuing Education (KCE) and thus serves in a multi-faceted capacity. The Dean must have an informed understanding of the functioning of KCE in relation to policies, processes, and procedures. The Dean promotes effective day-to-day operations of the Information Technology, Business, and Finance Certificate programs and furthers both short-term and long-term goals for KCE. The Dean acts as an academic project manager for KCE. Accordingly, duties may extend beyond the Information Technology, Business, and Finance Certificate programs to include academic initiatives in other KCE areas, including new product development and other projects. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas: academic program development and enhancement, interfacing with the marketing, admissions, and public relations departments to promote enrollment growth, guidance to faculty in promotion of a sound educational experience, and connection to KCE Academic Advising and Servicing Team in furtherance of retention and graduation goals. Specific Responsibilities1. Serve as Dean for Information Technology, Business, and Finance Certificate programs to promote the effective academic administration of these programs.2. Promote an engaging educational experience for KCE online students. 3. Lead faculty in promotion of quality, competitive programming which maximizes the utility of the online platform. 4. Interface with all departments and units integral to the proper functioning of KCE, including: academics, academic advising, student services, admissions, marketing, public relations, and finance.5. Develop and/or coordinate the development of academic content for the Information Technology, Business, and Finance programs, including but not limited to, course templates for online delivery, audio/visual components, and supplemental academic materials.6. Act as an academic project manager for KCE for new program development or other projects as assigned.7. Represent KCE at conferences, meetings and other activities as assigned.8. Prepare and/or review research studies and proposals for programs under consideration for launch in KCE.9. Participate in data analysis related to marketing and admissions.10. Participate in KCE marketing endeavors, including research, development, and review of content.11. Participate in activities related to the admissions process, including, but not limited to, providing the admissions team with updated information concerning educational offerings and the licensure, certification, and career aspects of industry areas.12. Perform other duties in promotion of Kaplan Continuing Education endeavors, as assigned.Qualifications:Skills Required1. Educational and Experiential Requirements1. Graduate degree in Information Technology; doctorate preferred.2. Credentialing in related professional area, as applicable.3. Minimum of five years in administration; proprietary education preferred.4.
