Department Technology Coordinator

Eastern Michigan University is seeking applicants for a Department Technology Coordinator position

within our Business Systems Support department, a unit of the Business and Finance division. The

Department Technology Coordinator will be responsible for servers and databases supporting the

TMA work order system and other non-related ERP servers and databases within the division,

managing the division’s web presence and supporting a small group of web content authors using

Dreamweaver, Banner (ERP system by SunGard SCT) Finance and Student Business Services

support as needed, writing ad-hoc and production reports using the standard campus report writing

tools (MS Access and Crystal), and acting as a liaison between Business and Finance and the IT

technical staff.

 

Qualifications include:

 

Knowledge and skills in computer systems administration, databases, business applications, and

report writing tools typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree in Computer

Science or Information Systems is required.

 

Minimum two years of demonstrated technical experience working with computer systems, databases,

and report writing tools such as MS Access, Excel, or Crystal is required.

 

Minimum two years of demonstrated experience as a programmer or systems analyst and demonstrated

technical ability to write and implement moderately complex user programs is required.

 

Working knowledge of one or more of: SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, VBA, Java, VB.Net is required.

 

Working knowledge of servers, database management, and website development and maintenance

is necessary.

 

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary. Possess the ability to effectively

communicate technical information to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing.
