Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the food service/hospitalityindustry or equivalent combination. Serv-Safe certified. Either certified Serv-Safe trainer or ability tobecome certified Serv-Safe trainer within one year on the job. Knowledge of NYS Health Codes andOSHA requirements a must. Demonstrated success in training diverse groups of staff in food servicerelated topics. Must have personable, outgoing demeanor and the ability to influence with tact anddiplomacy. Should possess thorough knowledge and understanding of food service products and culinaryequipment. Fully understand safety concerns in food service including, but not limited to, food andchemical handling. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential as is the ability tocommunicate effectively with all levels of staff and management. Must be extremely comfortable and havedemonstrated success at speaking in front of large audiences. Position requires the ability to gatherinformation collaboratively, but then work independently to bring ideas to fruition. Understanding of andsupport for issues of diversity and inclusiveness required. Should be proficient with computers and have aworking knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.Serv-Safe training certification preferred. Familiarity with a unionized work environment helpful.Experience in a large complex organization such as a University setting is desirable. Previous supervisoryexperience a plus.Candidates that are interviewed may be required to do a 30 minute presentation to a group, specific details provided prior to interview.Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
