Director, Graduate School, USDA @ San Francisco

The Graduate School, USDA is seeking a Director for its San Francisco Classroom Training team. The San Francisco team is responsible for planning and implementing tasks needed for the successful delivery of all instructor-led open enrollment and onsite training classes in the Western region, which encompasses seven states. This team maintains business relationships with the School’s clients and manages classes in curriculum areas ranging from financial management to management sciences, and from communications to human resource management. This team’s work is central to the School’s mission, and the Director will supervise the San Francisco team members, and manage their processes and outcomes to ensure positive working relationships with external and internal clients.



The Director @ San Francisco will serve in a supervisory capacity to deliver team results in the following areas: Open Enrollment Class Management, Onsite Class Management, Instructor Relations, Customer Service, Program Management, Class Quality, and Client Agency Relations. As the team leader, he or she will work to ensure that productive working relationships are fostered and maintained with key customers. Primary customers include: training officials of federal agencies, as well as state and local government agencies, government contractors and the private sector.



 

Qualifications

1. Four years experience with federal sector training.

2. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and history of customer- driven professional service.

3. Subject matter expertise in one or more of the Graduate School, USDA’s largest curriculum areas (Leadership and Management, Financial Management, Communications, Management Sciences, or Human Resource Management).

4. Ability to supervise and manage a small team of employees.

5. Project management expertise, preferably of an educational nature.

6. Experience working with budgets, proposals and client agency negotiations.

7. College degree in relevant field required.

8. Occasional U.S. travel required; valid U.S. driver’s license required.
