Director National and International Exchange Center
Keene State College seeks an energetic, experienced, administrator to direct all operations of its self-supporting National and International Exchange Center (NIEC). Currently, the center manages international reciprocal exchanges and bilateral agreements, study abroad consortium memberships, the National Exchange Program, and international student support services.
The Director, reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Services, is responsible for providing vision and direction for a staff of four; facilitating and expanding national and international exchanges; promoting study abroad participation for students and faculty; assisting in the development of faculty led short-term trips; supporting international students on campus; serving as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for immigration advising; and strengthening NIEC links with the College’s academic and administrative units, government agencies, professional organizations, and the foreign embassies of our international students ensuring the department’s integration with the college’s academic and developmental priorities. In particular, the center is advancing the college’s commitment to service learning and a new honors program. Some international travel may be required.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in International Studies or a related field; five years experience in developing and sustaining international programs in higher education including three years supervisory experience; experience with SEVIS, and knowledge of DHS regulations and recent updates in immigration laws pertaining to international students and faculty; and experience working, living, or studying abroad. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and budget management skills. Federal regulations require that the director be a US citizen or legal permanent resident. Additionally, the institution has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the institution. Salary range: $53,200-$67,640; salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
