Our client, a leader in providing private post-secondary education in North America, is seeking a Director of Web Strategies and Operations to lead web development for the full life cycle of the student and faculty experience for online learning. This position is responsible for the research, strategy, site envisioning, planning and requirements, user experience, web design and web development. This position is accountable for the performance of business objectives. He/She will provide vision, leadership and management to the web strategies team consisting of web producers and web developers in a high growth environment.

Key Job Elements:
1. Build and maintain a robust Web Strategy roadmap supporting student recruitment, servicing and student success by researching emerging technologies, competitive analysis, defining, and developing initiatives to support entire lifecycle of the online student and faculty provide internal scalability to organization
2. Lead the full lifecycle of web site and web application development to ensure robust use of best-in-class methodology and tools, including information architecture, navigation schemas, content management and search engine optimization. Communicate and coordinate plans, risks, and status to business clients and supporting IT functions.
3. Responsible for management, oversight and periodic review of web strategies producers and web development staff as well as training and mentoring of team members.
4. Ensure the user web experience fully supports the brand positioning and goals for each of our cleints' entities.
5. Ensures proper workflow process is followed including documentation is produced and maintained for all existing programs, production changes and future development efforts. Ensures proper coding standards are enforced for development work.
6. Manage budgets for staff, application infrastructure expenses, and software expenditures. Manage contractor/vendor budgets and monitor contractor performance.
7. Manage cooperative relationships across business functions with respect to systems, projects, processes, teams and external partners.
8. Develop and deliver daily/weekly operational website metrics that provide insight into student behavior, conversion rates, yield rates, and operational performance.

Position Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have a passion for the web and it’s capabilities to empower the online learner He/She must be able to demonstrate the insatiable drive and ability to stay current with the leading trends and technology with the proven ability to make the web experience come to life.  
1. Bachelors Degree in business related field required.
2. A minimum of 8 years of web development leadership, as well as project management skills, and experience with large scale web development preferable in the education or business to consumer space. ECommerce experience helpful.
3. Strong leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and project management skills in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. Ability to motivate and demand the best.
4. Detail-oriented, yet maintains the ability to think strategically, including synthesizing large volumes of data into concise, well-presented recommendations.
5. Must be solution-oriented, a highly motivated self starter.
6. Must possess strong written and verbal skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate about technical matters in layman’s terms as well as clearly articulate thoughts, vision and direction.
7. Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations.
8. Process oriented and problem solving skills; Experience with process mapping and product lifecycles definition.
9. Knowledge of web production process and web development.
10. Advanced knowledge of object oriented design and programming
11. Advanced knowledge of database design and data access techniques
12. Experience leading .NET development
13. Experience in web analytics. Ability to analyze Web traffic data and prepare reports highlighting key information and trends and opportunities.
