Director of Alumni and Family Relations

(Position may be filled at the Assistant Director level based upon the background and qualifications of the selected candidate)

 

The Office of Institutional Advancement is seeking a Director or Assistant Director of Alumni and Family Relations.  Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, this individual is responsible for the administration and coordination of all programs and services to Dean College alumni and families. 

 

Representative job responsibilities include the oversight of major College events, both annual and occasional, including homecoming, reunions and special events.  This individual serves as the College liaison to the Dean College Alumni Council and provides support to the Council President and membership.  This is an exempt, salaried position.  The normal responsibilities of the job necessarily include College sponsored meetings and events which regularly take place on evenings and weekends.

 

Salary is commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate.  Dean College benefits and total compensation are highly competitive within the Massachusetts private higher education community.

 

Qualifications  A bachelor’s degree plus relevant related work experience are required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous higher education experience. In addition, the most qualified candidate must:Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Be highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently in a fast paced environment with quick turn around times Must demonstrate evidence of a self-starting orientation and enjoys working collaboratively with  members of a small department and larger campus community; Exhibit proven proficiency  in Microsoft Office applications and prior experience working with Raisers’ Edge or a comparable fundraising database. Be discrete, maintain confidentiality and have a strong commitment to high quality work and attention to detail.
