DIRECTOR OF BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION We have an exciting and engaging opportunity with a highly respected university. The Director of Benefits and Compensation will assume strategic leadership for benefits (75%) and compensation (25%) programs for roughly 10,000 employees and 5,000 retirees. Responsibilities: In partnership with the vice president for HR and in collaboration with leadership, will lead the strategic review, design, and implementation of $218 million benefits and compensation programs designed to attract, retain, and engage current staff and prepare for future workforce trends. Will ensure compliance with legal requirements Monitor and analyze tax and governmental legislation and economic trends Provide day-to-day oversight of the Employee Benefits and Compensation offices and supervise functional area managers Act as a critical component of HR's leadership team.Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (master's a plus) Minimum of ten years' experience in planning and administration of a wide variety of employee benefit plans and compensation programs Deep knowledge of current benefits trends/practices In-depth knowledge of all federal and state compensation-related laws, regulations, and reporting requirements and new practices/developments in the field of compensation administration and design Thorough understanding of job classification practices, survey methods, and data analysis Spreadsheet and database software expertise Financial acumen Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change Leadership experience in a large, complex environment. Must demonstrate ability to clearly present complex information, and possess strong project management skills and a proven track record of completing assignments/projects on time and on budget. Experience working with outside legal counsel and consultants and negotiating with and managing vendors required. Broad understanding of benefits-related legal and governmental programs expected, including HIPAA.
