Associated Marine Institutes, Inc. (AMI) www.amikids.org, a non-profit organization that operates over 60 programs for juvenile offenders and troubled kids in 8 states, seeks a PR and communications professional to lead the media, public relations, and internal communications efforts for the organization at the national headquarters in Tampa, FL.

 

The Director of Communications will work closely with the CEO and senior management team to address PR issues and prepare media plans. This individual is the media spokesperson for the organization and the primary media contact for the Tampa office and all program locations. This highly visible position is also responsible for print and online media submissions, press releases, development and implementation of public image and brand materials, PR and media training to program staff and board members, monthly newsletters and communications briefings, and content delivery on the internal and external websites.

 Bachelor's degree required (preferably in marketing, communications or journalism). Excellent written and oral communications skills with work samples available. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to correspond via e-mail and perform Internet research. Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision. Extensive experience with creating media presentations in print, radio, television and online. Proficient in website content maintenance. Ability to travel.
