Director of Counseling

 

Provide and be accountable for counseling, crisis intervention and disability services. Promote and ensure a barrier-free environment for all students attending The Art Institute of Washington. Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.  Supervise counseling staff both clinically and administratively in all functions of the department.

 

Job Requirements:

a) Must hold of doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program, be licensed or licensed eligible in Virginia, and have relevant clinical and administrative experience.

b) Three to five years of related responsibility in counseling in a post-secondary institution.

c) Two or more years of experience working with disability issues.

d) At least one year of prior supervisor experience.

e) Prior experience in developing/managing departmental budgets either through span of control or as a contributor.
