Director of Finance & Administration- Facilities Management
Reporting to, and working closely with the Executive Director for Finance and Administration, the incumbent will be responsible for management of budget related processes, i.e. quarterly updates, revisions and forecasts. The Director of Finance is also responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, recording journal entries into the financial accounting system, researching and verifying data and maintaining financial analysis models. Individual performs quarterly and year end closing and reporting activities, including coordination with CUMC Finance Administrators. Will handle the preparation of financial reports and account analysis; manage and maintain computerized financial reports. Work with the Executive Director in day to day operations; gather and coordinate data from various sources as needed for reporting and analysis; prepare account reconciliations including written budget to actual variance analysis reports. Assist in the enhancing and development of the current financial reporting system. Also provide training and guidance to staff regarding accounting practices and use of financial systems to improve efficiency, accuracy and report development. Key responsibilities include development of budgets; evaluation of management units financial performance; development of financial model to assess strategic initiatives; data collection, analysis and preparation of financial reports. Development and implementation of long range strategic plans; manage the business functions of the central administrative units, including purchasing, and accounts payable activities. Serve as a resource to facilities directors and administrators in the development of budgets and the interpretation of financial results.
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skill are required. Extensive experience with spreadsheets and databases are required. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or Management preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and execute change management. Knowledge of University Financial and Administrative Systems.
