Director of Human Resources and Development
Rasmussen College Director of Human Resources and Development
This is a newly-created position for a creative, experienced manager who has significant experience in both the management of Human Resources and Staff Development. This person will be a strategic leader working with her/his team and the leadership of Rasmussen to promote the excellent work environment of our College. Areas of focus will include more traditional areas such as policies and procedures, benefit design and management as well as safety and health of our team. Additionally, this leader will be tasked with expanding our employee development programs. This is a critical position for Rasmussen and a national, high-profile role with contact throughout our organization.
HUMAN RESOURCES: Expand the level of support our HR team provides to all Rasmussen employees. This includes assessing our current support level and providing a recommendation set of potential improvements, developing a more robust on-boarding system for new employees, developing and implementing additional systems and processes to improve the overall experience of our team.
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT: With development programs existing for select employee sets within Rasmussen, this role will expand those efforts and construct an internal management training and development program to meet the human capital needs of our rapidly growing College. This will include designing programs to expand vertical expertise in key areas as well as system-wide identification and development of emerging leaders.
Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, or equivalent.10+ years experience in HR or employee development is strongly preferred.4+ years experience of HR management experience is strongly preferred.Strong business acumen and the ability to contribute to the continued rapid growth of the organizationComfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment and blazing new trails with an attitude of ownership and accountability.Some analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with internal and external resources in a matrixed organizationStrong leadership, team management and negotiation skills. Strong organizational, problem solving and presentation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Willing to travel approximately 25%.
