Located in Ithaca, N.Y., Cor nell University is a bold, innovative, inclusive and dynamic teaching and research university where staff, faculty, and students alike are challenged to make an enduring contribution to the betterment of humanity. Lead a comprehensive, school-wide effort to create a climate of inclusion across the school for all individuals and groups. This effort should include progammatic activities to foster understanding, improve communications, increase awareness for future leaders and reduce conflicts. This effort will includedeveloping the inclusion strategy, establishing benchmarks and reporting, establishing a Diversity Action Group and Dean's Diversity Council, and other programs deemed necessary to accomplish the goal of an inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and learning is maximized. The initiatives should engage the school community in activities that build an understanding of operating in a diverse business environment and a sense of inclusion throughout the school. This will include the formation of a student-run diversity action group and a diversity and inclusion council with representatives of keystakeholder groups to advise on the school's direction and strategies in this important area. Lead a comprehensive effort to substantially increase the number and participation of women and minorities in the life of the Johnson School. This will involve leading activities to recruit, develop and support women and minority students who are currently or potentially members of the Johnson Schoolcommunity. The Director will work across departments and functions to address pertinent issues. S/He will work with the Career Management Center and Alumni Relations Office to tap into and strengthen relationships with minority and women alumni as well as gain support from companies interested in hiringwomen and minorities from Johnson; AA&D to raise money for targeted scholarships; the Office of Student Services to effectively support clubs like the Women's Management Council, the BGBA, HABLA, and others as appropriate; and finally the Admissions Office to develop untapped sources forpotential candidates. The Director will also partner with other colleges at Cornell to address common issues related to recruiting, developing and supporting women and minority students. S/He will also drive partnership activities with institutions that work directly with our targeted clientele, for example, theToigo Foundation, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, the Diversity Pipeline Alliance and Forte. The Director will serve as a key member of the Corporate Relations Leadership Team and will serve as a resource to the Management Committee and Dean's Office to help the school dramatically improve our efforts to attract, develop, and support women and minority business leaders and create a climate of efforts to attract, develop, and support women and minority business leaders and create a climate of inclusion.
Bachelors with a minimum of 5 but less then 7 years experience. MBA stongly preferred. Experience in program development/management, marketing and/or alumni relations. Top-notch public speaking and writing skills a must. Some travel required, about 20%.
