We are seeking highly qualified, creative, student-centered, and technologically literate educatorscommitted to working in a culturally and economically diverse community for the following position:POSITION:    Coordinator of English (English Department Coordinator) - Click here for a General Coordinator/Director Job Description    EDUCATION:  MA preferred  SALARY: Unit B Scale  (Links to collective bargaining agreements - coordinator/directors, PDF)LOCATION:    Middle and High School, Grades 6-12EFFECTIVE DATE:    July 1, 2008To provide the instructional leadership that creates, implements, maintains, and enhances excellence, scholarship, and creativity for all students in English Language Arts, with the end result the improvement of student achievement.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:- Hold or be eligible for the MA Supervisor/Director License- Experience teaching English at the Middle and/or High School level- Expertise in using assessment and data to inform instruction- Expertise integrating technology into curriculum and instruction- Expertise planning and delivering professional development and/or graduate instruction- Leadership ability in school administration, curriculum development, program evaluation, school improvement, and staff supervision and evaluation- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
