Ashford University, a leader in Online Education is seeking Student Recruiters to recruit and enroll students for our College of Extended Studies.

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for recruiting online students for both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Student Recruiter makes outbound calls to prospective students (leads) qualifying them on their interest in Ashford University.The Student Recruiter conducts student appointments with prospective students over the phone to further explore their primary motivations for going to school. The Student Recruiter also disseminates course and program information to new and potential students. This includes advising of potential students with respect to admissions, degree options, requirements and process, and providing information on Ashford’s policy practices and rules.The Student Recruiter may conduct a preliminary evaluation of transcripts during the initial interview and will advise students on the transfer and application of current academic credits for the purposes of degree completion.The Student Recruiter verifies enrollment status and ensures students are eligible for admissions. For the initial course, this includes attendance, academic and enrollment process to ensure that students comply with Ashford’s policy and procedures.The Student Recruiter also follows up with students that apply for admission, making sure they are prepared to start class. Some of these duties include: online orientation to the learning platform, ordering the first set of books, and the successful completion of their first class.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the higher education market and industry.Must have completed and mastered or be able to demonstrate skill and ability in the Enrollment Advisor learning objectives and training proficiencies by attending paid nine day training course.
Must have an excellent command of verbal and professional presentation skills to accurately convey Ashford’s information over the phone.Must be results oriented and have the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.Previous sales, customer service or marketing experience entailing one on one interaction is required.Inside sales in a call center environment a plus.AA Degree or equivalent units in undergraduate studies required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
