Export Compliance Officer

Position Summary:

The University invites applications for the position ofExport Compliance Officer.  This positionwill report to the Assistant Vice President of Compliance and Policy and willprovide leadership for export control compliance broadly across theUniversity.  The position will provideexpert review, advice and training concerning the requirements and obligationsof exporting products and deemed exports under the International Traffic inArms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as well asthe Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years ofexperience in export/import compliance, licensing, specializing in StateDepartment licenses, and Technical Assistance Agreements.

· Thorough understanding and working knowledge ofthe Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR), theDepartment of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), ExportArms Control Act (EACA) and other applicable US export control regulations.

· Demonstrated ability to make independentjudgment regarding the interpretation and application of US Export and ImportRegulations.

· Experience developing educational and trainingmaterials for a professional audience.

· Ability to communicate complex regulatoryinformation to faculty, staff, and students.

 PreferredQualifications:

· Related work experience in the US StateDepartment and/or Department of Commerce.

· Experience with e-customs (Visual Compliance) orother export control software systems such as D-Trade software

· Experience with website design and maintenance.
