Cornell Cooperative Extensionseeks aFarm Business Management Specialist to become part of a regional team of extension educators working closely with various advisory groups, faculty and extension staff from Cornell University's nearby campus and four County Extension Associations. The position is located at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County. The objective is to provide research-based knowledge and resources necessary to improve production, management and marketing practices in order to enhance profitability and sustain growth of the commercial dairy and field crops industries in Broome, Cortland, Tompkins and Tioga Counties in central New York.The appointee will provide leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive educational program, to include: business planning, financial decision-making, transition planning, human resource management and marketing. Provide commercial producers with the knowledge and resources necessary to assess production, management and marketing practices through business analysis and economic decision-making that will enhance profitability and sustain the industry in New York State. Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics or Business Administration with course work in agriculture.
