In a team environment for the Dairy Farm Business Summary and Analysis Project, facilitate producers in analyzing their financial situation, setting future goals, and making sound financial decisions. Collect and analyze confidential financial and production data for farms participating in the Dairy Farm Business Summary and Analysis Project. In doing so, work with Cornell Cooperative Extension Educators, Cornell farm management faculty as well as producers, agribusiness, consultants, and accountants in New York State. Co-author selected annual publications that analyze the project data. Contribute to the project promotion, publication distribution, and computer program changes with programmers. This is a two year term position with continuation possible based on performance and continued funding.
Bachelor's degree; more than 2 but less than 3 years experience or equivalent in Dairy Science, Farm Management, Agribusiness or related field and knowledge of the dairy industry. Good accounting and financial analysis, as well as, written and oral communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal, analytical and research, and strong reasoning skills. Demonstrated ability to show initiative, prioritize and multi-task. The successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure; independently; and use sound judgment. High level of integrity and dependability; ability to build and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of constituents including faculty, staff, students, and external representatives. Experience working independently; good interpersonal skills required to work with diverse personalities; excellent oral and written communication skills. Travel is required. Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel statewide. Must maintain high level of confidentiality.No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
