Perform installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of complex HVAC systems, mechanical systems, control systems and alarm systems to support building and campus operations. This involves use of all types of electronic/mechanical test equipment, creative troubleshooting techniques and methods, personal computers, and programming software.
Journey level skills and knowledge required. Completion of a four-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee; OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems. Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience balancing all types of air and water systems; HVAC/Refrigeration EL6A certification.
