Financial Aid Officer I Job Description Responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely financial aid services to the students as well as monitoring for compliance with all Federal and State regulations or other organizations providing financial aid. Assists in completing reports as needed. Responsibilities:Maintains harmonious, efficient and courteous service to customers. Calculates financial aid eligibility for students and prospective students. Completes students’ financial aid package in a timely and accurate manner. Assists students by selecting the most beneficial financial aid packaging, including grants and loans. Requests financial aid monies from guarantee agencies so that those funds can be applied to the student’s account. Monitors student academic status to ensure proper financial aid eligibility. Acquires and maintains current and accurate expertise relative to various state and federal financial aid programs. Works to ensure 100% accuracy on all internal and external audits of work performed. Works with manager and director on all professional judgment. Requirements:High School diploma required, Associate Degree in Business or Accounting or two years of direct, full-time, financial aid officer experience preferred. Requires good knowledge of Excel and MS Word, good communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to explain and understand complex information, and strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to handle frustrations of customer with tack and diplomacy as well as work on several projects at same time. Must be able to organize and manage the work to meet deadlines and adhere to a flexible work schedule. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
