First Year Seminar Adjunct Instructor

FYS 100 is designed to help students make a successful transition into college by teaching them the academic and personal strategies needed for college success.  Instructors will teach two sections of FYS 100 which are paired with one liberal arts course taught by another instructor.  FYS 100 instructors use the material from the content course to teach study strategies to students. 

Education & Previous Experience Requirements  Masters degree in education or related field required; strong preference given to candidates who have taught study strategies to college students with diverse learning styles and learning challenges, including learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD. Instructors with background in special education, and working with students with documented learning disabilities, are specifically needed. 

Additional Information All sections are taught in the day (between 9 am and 5:30 pm).  This is a part-time position requiring 12 hours on campus each week (6 hours in the FYS classroom; 3 hours observing the liberal arts class; and 2-3 office hours per week).
