GED Program Instructor Coordinator

GED Program Coordinator

 

The GED Program Coordinator will develop and coordinate GED programs at the school level. In this role, the selected candidates will work directly with teachers and students to develop, teach, support and inspire program participants to meet their educational goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  Develop a GED course program to include selecting course materials, creating lesson plans, and developing support and assessment strategy. Train Faculty on implementing GED program with students to teach courses geared towards GED testing requirements. Participate in recruitment activities and program orientation. Lead and participate in regular meetings with GED Faculty to discuss lesson plans and student progress. Provide classroom instruction for students at various stages of academic and behavioral readiness. Assist Faculty in assessing students’ proficiencies, identifying gaps, and developing plans to address problem areas. Utilize various teaching methods and strategies tailored to needs and backgrounds of student population. Accept additional responsibilities as needed.



Flexible on the city for work location. Position may be in the Education Affiliates Corporate Office in Baltimore, MD or a school site. View company website to see list of school locations.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Master in Education or equivalent preferred 3 - 5 years classroom teaching experience Experience teaching in a GED program required Experience working with adult students preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills
