GROUNDS MAINTENANCE D

Reporting to the Landscape Supervisor, the Grounds Maintenance D performs routine, basic ground maintenance tasks within the sport fields, grounds, and landscaping specialties. Uses a variety of grounds maintenance hand tools (rakes, shovel, hoes, clippers) and power tools (hedge trimmers, blowers, weed whackers, and lawn mowers). Grounds maintenance duties include digging, raking, mowing, trimming, edging, watering, blowing, sweeping, and irrigation head replacement. Moves sod, soil, and mulch, and plants color, hedges, and trees.  Prunes hedges and trees, installs sod. Repairs fences. Cleans drains. Performs routine operator maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and tools. Assists in moves and set-ups for College events. Tracks labor, materials, and supplies. Requires working knowledge of basic grounds maintenance methods and related equipment. Must assist with other duties as assigned. Minimum one year related experience. Knowledge of safety procedures related to hazardous materials. Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions, ability to repeatedly bend and lift heavy objects, climb stairs and ladders.  Valid California driver’s license and must maintain Colleges designated driver status.  To apply, submit resume and cover letter to:  resumes@oxy.edu .
