Gain counseling and communications experience (training provided)
Gain experience you can’t get anywhere else while you help people who are experiencing some form of personal crisis--from a bad day to a broken heart to a major loss or depressive illness.
Volunteer on Samaritans 24-hour crisis response hotline and provide emotional support to those who feel depressed, overwhelmed or in crisis and need someone to talk to.
You'll gain invaluable counseling and communications experience that can help you land a new job, re-enter the workforce, make a career change or get into grad school. It's great experience for all people-oriented jobs, from social service and human resources to public relations, administration and education.
