Duties:
The Grants Manager in the Department of Medicine is responsible for sponsored program pre-award functions, post-award accounting activities, and day to day business operations at the divisional level. The Grants Manager's responsibilities include proposal preparation, budget development, transaction approval and monitoring, reporting, and provision of business services for laboratory-based and patient-oriented research investigators in multiple divisions and locations.
Qualifications:
Grants Coordinator B: Bachelor's degree, and 2 to 4 years grants and contracts administration/business administration experience, particularly in a University setting; or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of University of Pennsylvania sponsored research guidelines and policies, required, as well as general accounting practices. Strong skills in spreadsheet, database and word processing software preferred. Experience in BEN Financials, UMIS and Business Objects extremely helpful. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, to be flexible and contribute positively to a dynamic business environment.
Grants Manager A: Same as above. BA/BS degree in accounting, 3 to 5 years grant and contract administration, or accounting/business administration experience, including supervisory experience; or equivalent. Working knowledge of CAS A-21 and A -110.
