Graphic Artist/Production Layout Artist

POSITION TITLE:   Graphic Designer/Production Layout ArtistPURPOSE: Perform all duties associated with the creative design of all types of professional marketing communication and specialty advertising materials for the Youth Learning Institute.REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing / Senior Graphic DesignerSTATUS: Full-time/PermanentLOCATION: Columbia, SC

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:     Implement the creative design of print, electronic and specialty advertising media to serve the general communication, marketing and advertising needs of the Youth Learning Institute, to include YLI Headquarters, centers, and all programs.Maintain a consistent brand image for the YLI organization. Advise YLI staff at all levels concerning print and electronic resources that aid the organization in meeting organizational and programmatic objectives. Perform other duties and responsibilities pertinent to achieving the objectives of YLI and contributing to the productivity of the entire YLI organization.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Associate’s degree and minimum of two years’ professional experience in graphic designExcellent grasp of design and production of four-color publications, trade show exhibits and specialty advertising materialsDemonstrated ability and experience in QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and AcrobatKnowledge of four-color prepress; knowledge of printingKnowledge of, and ability to work with the various computer operating systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Ability to learn complex technical materials and adapt in a rapidly changing technological area. Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with YLI staff, partners and outside contacts.Ability to work quickly and creatively and juggle multiple projects.Strong organizational and follow-up skills.MUST BE TEACHABLEMUST BE A TEAM PLAYER
