Box 730Paoli,PA 19301 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Education/Training Occupations: School/College Administration Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Executive (SVP, VP, Department Head, etc) Education Level: Master's Degree Job Description HEAD OF SCHOOLforThe Vanguard Schoolwww.VanguardSchool-pa.org Valley Forge Educational Services ("VFES") seeks a seasoned educational leader to assume the position of Head of School and responsibility for all areas of school program beginning August 1, 2008.  VFES is a non-profit educational organization with two functioning divisions:  The Vanguard School and The Crossroads School.  The schools share a beautiful, 26 acre campus in Paoli, Pennsylvania, approximately 30 minutes west of Philadelphia. The Vanguard School is a state-approved day school providing comprehensive special education services to over 235 public school students, ages 4 - 21, with autism spectrum disorders, neurological impairments, and/or emotional disturbances.  For nearly 50 years, The Vanguard School has been an innovator in offering an integrated academic, social, and life skills approach within a supportive environment.  In a highly personalized setting, Vanguard emphasizes and integrates academic learning and advanced life skills to enable each student to become an independent, functional, and happy member of society.  The Opportunity This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced school administrator with a background in special education instruction and administration to assume the leadership role of a forward looking special needs program. The new Head of School will be expected to work directly with the VFES Chief Executive Officer to achieve the goals and objectives of Vanguard's programs and services.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the organization, coordination, supervision, evaluation, and interpretation of matter pertaining to the school's educational programs and financial management. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree, at least 5 years experience in special education leadership, at least 5 years experience in special education instruction, a strong background in special education law, and an understanding of the challenges facing special needs children and their families.  Inquiries are strictly confidential - interested candidates should apply by May 16, 2008, to:  Valley Forge Educational ServicesAttn: Director of Human Resources1777 N.
