Immediate Opening – H.S. Special Education Math Teacher

Lake Shore Academy, an affiliate of The Menta Group® ( http://www.thementagroup.org), offers a high school program that provides a variety of school-to-work options for special education students living in the Lake County, Illinois area.  In combination with a talented administration and staff, Lake Shore Academy is an ideal academic setting for adolescents who are preparing to become both literate and self-sufficient.

 

Lake Shore Academy is currently in need of a classroom teacher for high school classes with LBS1, Type 09, Type 10, or Type 39 State of Illinois Certification, who can teach special needs students with an emphasis on work skills as a basis for a career path curriculum.  The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach Math, and be willing to be trained to work with severely Behavior/Emotional Disordered students.

 

Qualifications:Type 09, 10, 39, and/or LBS01 endorsed State of Illinois CertificationAbility to teach a self-contained classroom within all basic instructional areas, but we’re specifically looking for an Math teacherAbility to work a regular school day and the ability to work with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties
