Host Families

Are you a qualified teacher or do you have a university degree or a TEFL Certificate? We are recruiting native English speakers who can host and teach English to foreign students in the New York area (Manhattan and boroughs).

 

Host families should be able to accommodate international students in their homes. Students are usually from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Russia or Japan. You should be able to provide them with 3 meals per day and give them between 10 and 30 individual English lessons per week.

 

Students range from 10 years old to mature students and have varying ability in English from beginner to advanced level.

 

We require host families of all different profiles. Families with children or teenagers are especially appreciated!

 

Family payment ranges from 500 to 680 per week depending on the number of language lessons given.

 

Home Language International is based in Monaco and has been operating successfully since 1979.  We operate all year round, however our busiest periods are from June to August.
