HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – Westover Job Corps Center



Westover Job Corps Center in Chicopee Massachusetts is looking for a resourceful, detail-oriented and energetic professional to join our team as a Human Resources Manager.



As a human resources manager the selected individual will:



Provide guidance, consultation and interpretation to managers as it pertains to employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, legal issues, policies and procedures.



Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting human resources.



Coordinate the recruitment and selection process.



Conduct New Employee orientation.



Administer wage and salary program including salary and personnel changes, performance appraisals, evaluation of position descriptions, personnel records and reports, salary structures and area wage and salary surveys.



Plan, develop and oversee center staff training.



Prepare, review and implement the company affirmative action plan in accordance with equal opportunity employment policies and procedures.



Manage the employee termination process.



Provide employee relations guidance to managers; reviews and approves all discipline.



Manage employee evaluation process and assist manager with performance reviews and goal setting.



Manage all employee relations issues including those involving discrimination and harassment by conducting internal investigations, reviewing documentary evidence, interviewing witnesses, etc.

Coordinate annual benefit enrollment process for employees



Manage labor relations; act as a liaison between union and management employees; coordinate and respond to grievances in a timely and efficient manner; participate in union negotiations.



Position requires a bachelor’s degree and three years related experience, two of which should be in a supervisory capacity. One year labor relations experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required. Experience working with the Lawson HRIS system and PHR certification is preferred.
