Open Until Filled DESCRIPTION:Under direction of the Director of Information Systems and Business Process Management will act as IT Project and Development Manager for UCSD's Auxiliary & Plant Services (A&PS) Information Technology Group. Responsible for the implementation, design, development, and support of moderately complex to complex business information systems serving all of the business units and administrative functions for Auxiliary & Plant Services. Will be responsible for managing multiple implementation projects, business requirements gathering and analysis, and the design and development of enterprise web and other applications. Provide project management expertise in the implementation of large, enterprise-class systems. Demonstrated advanced experience with software development technologies needed for a large transactional computing environment. Research and provide recommendations to the Director regarding architecture, implementing COTS systems, design, and development of new enterprise systems, and data delivery to A&PS customers. Proficient in Java Enterprise Application development and related technologies. Knowledge of Visual Studio.NET, MS .NET framework, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, VB/C# a plus.--- Must be available to work weekends and evenings as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS:* Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent work experience which includes three or more years in software development and at least two years of technical leadership experience. MBA a plus.* Demonstrated advanced experience with software development technologies needed for large transactional computing environments; primarily Java EE application development. Familiarity and/or knowledge of Visual Studio.NET, the Microsoft .NET framework, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, VB/C# is recommended.* Extensive experience with managing small to large projects and satisfying multiple customers with diverse needs.* Proven managerial skills and experience supervising a group of analysts, programmers, and other technical staff. Ability to effectively direct and manage the design and implementation of software systems.* Strong technical knowledge and experience in gathering requirements for the development, implementation and maintenance of complex administrative information systems.* Ability to evaluate workload and available resources and adjust schedules and priorities, as required.* Ability to plan and organize day-to-day workload on short and long term projects.* Demonstrated experience in problem-solving techniques with administrative information systems.* Ability to think independently to develop mew systems solutions and procedures.* Demonstrated ability to train department staff on use of modern administrative information systems.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:* Background and DMV Clearance required prior to hire.* Knowledge of University organizations and policies.Excellent benefits that start the first day of hire.
