INSTRUCTOR, CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM - PART TIME

DESCRIPTION:  The candidate will be responsible and accountable for delivering assistance in administering various lesson plans in the Career Design School Culinary Arts/Food Service program and in assisting in the operation of the cafeteria; will provide instruction with regard to preparation of food, equipment cleaning, sanitation procedures and food storage, and dry goods storage and set up procedures; will operate and instruct students on cash register operation; will maintain supplies at required levels; will assist with checking deliveries and checking accuracy of deliveries as well as signing for fresh, frozen and dry items; will prepare paperwork and proves out cash drawer for daily cash receipts; will arrange and serve at special meetings and events and other duties as assigned by management or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must maintain impeccable safety and sanitary rules and conditions; must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to be sensitive to individuals with disabilities; must have good math skills and the ability to operate a cash register.

LICENSURE:  Licenses (or eligible to be licensed) by the NYS Education Dep't as a Private (Trade) School Teacher.

EDUCATION:  HS Diploma Or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE:  Three (3) years of experience in the Food Service industry OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
