Instructional Technologist

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIST
Full - time/12 month Position

The RoseMary B. Fuss Technology for Learning Center (TLC) at Lasell College seeks an Instructional Technologist to research, design, and support the use of technology-assisted course delivery.  Reporting to the Director of the TLC, the Instructional Technologist:
• consults with faculty and staff in developing instructional uses of technology;
• identifies, analyzes, evaluates, and showcases new technologies for potential applications in instruction and assessment;
• investigates and solves faculty-specific technology problems related to instructional technology;
• assists with the planning, coordination, and offering of special topics workshops for faculty in the use of technologies in instruction;
• assists faculty in assessing the outcomes of using specific technologies to support learning;
• takes the technical lead in ePortfolio initiatives;
• supports faculty in the use of the course management system, including online and hybrid class sessions;
• provides information necessary for the creation of hard drive images for use in classrooms, computer labs, and public areas;
• tests and insures workability of classroom technology;
• monitors classroom technology support issues;
• develops and nurtures a strong relationship with the multimedia and information technology staff;
• assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of technology related experience in the higher education environment is required.  Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or similar field is preferred. Opportunity for teaching responsibilities with the proper credentials. Knowledge of course management systems, HTML, Flash, Streaming Media, and Web 2.0 technologies is a plus. Excellent communication skills, the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties, and a demonstrated ability to interact with and support faculty are essential.
