Knowledge Management Specialist

Strategic Knowledge Solutions, Inc. has 2 openings for Knowledge Management Specialists in Leavenworth, KS.

 

Required:

  Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Knowledge Management, Education or Social Science or related field (Master’s degree preferred) Experience in facilitating small groups and teams in virtual environments. Competency with virtual and collaboration/communication tools. Experience in knowledge management (KM) methodologies, gap analysis, and learning needs assessments. Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and implement programs and activities in complex virtual environments. Must be comfortable working with ambiguity and new concepts in an innovative and rapidly changing environment. Prior military experience or extensive experience working with the military. Ability to take initiative; share knowledge and information; express disagreements tactfully, and demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams. Demonstrated analytical capacity. Ability to keep up to date on technical issues and survey academic work and international best practices. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. High energy, positive attitude, fast learner, team player, willing to ask questions.

 

Desirable:   Competency in Community Software (Tomoye ECCO) and web Conferencing tools (Adobe Connect). Experience with Sharepoint. Six Sigma Certification. Comfortable developing and giving presentations to large audiences. Experience writing papers for journals and/or conferences.

 

Both positions are in support of the US Army's Battle Command Knowledge System, the Army enterprise system for knowledge management operations and training. 

 

Position I: This position is a Team Leader for a group of social networks focused on the Army’s Functional specialties at 12 Centers of Excellence around the United States. The core responsibilities of this position include: Managing day-to-day operations of the social network, providing leadership, management, governance, and training to the organization. In addition, this person will need to move the network from Army focus to Joint/Interagency Focus in the next 12 months.

 

Additional Required Skills: Joint and Interagency experience. Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, governmental and intergovernmental representatives, NGOs, business representatives, and academic experts. Staff or command experience at the senior field grade level. 

 

Position II: Facilitator for Army wide social network consisting of Army Observer Controller Trainer at four geographically dispersed training Centers. Responsible for managing day-to-day conversation in the social network and supporting periodic live web conferences to support knowledge transfer of lessons learned and best practices.

 

Additional Required Skills: 10 years of Military experience with successful experience as an Observer Controller Trainer required, Combat Arms preferred.
