Licensed Vocational Nursing Director

Everest College – Alhambra, CAGeneral Duties:• Provide general oversight, management, evaluation, and direction of the nursing program, students and faculty.• Maintain College standards and procedures for educational achievement and instructional effectiveness. • Work cooperatively with the Campus President, staff and Regional Nursing Director to adhere to national, state and local regulatory rules and standards.• Select and orient faculty members and evaluate job performance, including classroom effectiveness, teaching methodologies, attendance/retention monitoring, grade submissions, and providing a full period of instruction.• Review class syllabi, textbooks, examinations, and other tests/quizzes to ensure standardization and appropriateness of content.• Promote an environment that encourages cooperation and creativity to advance collaborative efforts with various academic departments.• Develop annual program and staff objectives.• Participate in state and local nursing-related organizations, especially those related to nursing education.• Prepare departmental budget in collaboration with school administration; submit for approval.• Implement and oversee a nursing student Retention Plan. Requirements:• Registered Nurse licensed in state of California.• Bachelor degree in nursing required, Master’s degree preferred.• Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience.• Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience.• Previous management experience.• Maintain current health requirements, training, licensures and certifications.
