Licensing Assistant in Life Science - 08409

Provide assistance to Technology Commercialization and Liaison Officers (TCLO) in their efforts in marketing Cornell technologies in thearea of life sciences, to potential licensees. The individual will assist in the conduct of technology transfer functions in the following areas with instructions by the TCLOs:Market inventions to commercial entities for product development and sales Perform technological background and marketing research on disclosed Cornell inventions Perform initial drafting of license agreements to effect commercial development of inventionsRecord key information related to the TCLO's activities in the Center's Intellectual Property management and document retention systems
Formaltraining in the area of life science, of 1-2 years beyond high school, with3-5 years experiencein life science or equivalent combination. Bachelor's degree preferred. Exposure to technology transfer in a university setting, exposure to industrial R&D or technology acquisition activities, and/or work with a venture capital firm financing university start-ups a plus.Excellent communication skills, including high level writing skills Exceptional organizational skills, time management and strong ability to manage details Team player with proven ability to interact with all levels of staff and constituents from diverse communities Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and present a strong service orientationNo relocation assistance is provided for this position.
