Manager of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations

Longy School of Music has an immediate opening for a Manager of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations. This position reports to the Director of Leadership Gifts.

 

Responsibilities

Longy’s Manager of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations will

§ Plan and manage operations to assure and expand a vital annual fund.

§ Establish a clear plan and individual prospect strategies to increase leadership annual fund gifts.

§ Assist in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of new prospects and donors – including those from untapped constituencies.

§ Staff and increase the membership of the Georges Longy Circle Council of leadership donors.

§ Renew and revitalize relationships with former Longy students by developing and managing the school’s first office for alumni engagement.

§ Plan and facilitate a strong and supportive alumni network consistent with the school’s mission.

§ Assist the Director of Leadership Gifts, as required, to meet department goals.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial, results-driven style and the ability to identify and implement strategic approaches to fundraising and constituency development.  S/he will thrive in an environment of growth and collaborative decision-making.

§ Experience or demonstrated potential in annual fund work, alumni organization, and volunteer management.

§ Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree and/or additional fundraising coursework are a plus.

§ Self-confidence, flexibility and excellent judgment.

§ Proactive “customer-centered” approach.

§ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

§ Ability to manage multiple priorities.

§ Knowledge of, and affinity for, the arts, music and/or experiential education would be helpful.
