Market Research Analyst

Job Description

 

The Market Research Analyst focuses on marketing and communications research that informs Georgia Tech’s marketing, brand communication and public relations decision makers. The Analyst is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative research under the direction of the Director of Research & Analysis in the Communications and Marketing department. The Market Research Analyst will interface with a wide range of internal and external constituents whose perspectives are vital to the success of Georgia Tech’s communications and marketing strategy.

 

Specific responsibilities include the following:

 Accurate identification of research problem/opportunity, in collaboration with team members and internal clients.Selection of appropriate research methodology and design of research instruments.Hands-on data collection through online surveys, focus groups and individual interviews.Identification of appropriate new survey and data analysis tools to enhance information gathering for quantitative projects.Efficient project coordination, including recruitment of research participants.Analysis of research data, particularly quantitative survey data.Participation in review/analysis of monthly media outcomes reports.Professional and articulate composition of research project reports.Effective presentation of project findings to multiple organizational levels.

 

Requirements

 Minimum 2 years of direct, hands-on market research experience.Total of 6 years’ job-related experience.Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Business or related field.Passion for customer focus and meeting the needs of internal and external constituents.Strong analytical skills and experience using quantitative analysis statistical software (SPSS).Very strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to produce high-quality written reports, with appropriate graphic displays.Experience conducting online surveys and directly facilitating focus groups.Demonstrated ability to design, conduct and report market research projects that support marketing and communications goals.Work experience in communications environment, higher education environment and/or client service environment is desired.Excellent interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint software. Survey software experience desired.Team-oriented and consensus-building communication style.
