Medical Billing & Coding - Lead Instructor

Lead Instructor Medical Billing and Coding Department

Requirements:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Lead Instructor teaches classes as needed and assists in the supervision of teachers and students in the department. He or she also helps the Director of Education to ensure integrity of curriculum, classroom materials, equipment and classroom management. The Lead Instructor prepares reports on student’s progress, counsel students, and reports on relevant changes in the field of instruction.

Support the recruitment and interviewing of new faculty



Support the training and observation of new department faculty (Day and Evening programs)



Support the offering of department classes and providing of coaching and feedback



Teach classes as required by the DOE



Assist with conducting department meetings as required by the DOE



Assist in the monitoring of attendance for department students



Review grades, monitor (SAP) progress, and confer with department students having academic/attendance problems



Assist in the development and implementation of retention projects and services



Participate in curriculum development within the Medical Billing Department



Responsible for creation and revision of lesson plan



Participate in curriculum development within the Medical Billing Department



Other duties as assigned by the DOE



QUALIFICATIONS:

:

Oral and written communications skills. Computer literacy. Evidence of leadership, organization, and administrative skills.



Administrative or supervisory responsibility. Two to three years’ industry experience when appropriate.



Must possess working knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS coding, certification a plus.



Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or 4 years of experience as a Medical Billing and Coding Instructor or
