***Medical Coding Instructor***

Because of continued growth, as more students and their families recognize the value of focused career education, we are looking for Medical Coding Instructors for our Lancaster Campus.

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND TASKS
Reports to the Program Director and serves as faculty for the Medical Billing & Coding Program. Responsible for teaching within YTI’s Medical Billing & Coding Diploma courses, teaching students in theory, lab and clinical. Teaching courses with an emphasis on insurance billing, coding, medical terminology, health data content and structure, legal and ethical aspects of health information management and other classes as assigned by Program Director. In accordance with YTI Career Institute policies and procedures, full time faculty members participate in advising students, maintaining office hours, maintain professional competence, and participating in professional development activities. Assignments may include days and/or evenings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARD
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience: Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Required: 3 years work experience as a CCA, CCS, or CPC. Strong commitment to the Medical Billing & Coding Program education. Must possess computer skills and have the ability to use common software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and manage data using technology as well as demonstrate the ability to implement the use of technology in Medical Billing & Coding education. Must demonstrate 1. creativity and innovation in the field, 2. sensitivity to, and knowledge of, a diverse student body, 3. experience in building and maintaining relationships, 4. excellent verbal and written communication skills, and 5. an understanding of the comprehensive mission and values of YTI. Successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively plan, organize, and manage in a complex, fast-paced environment. Prior teaching experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION
Required: Must have a combination of appropriate work experience and certifications with evidence of proficiency-CCA, CCS, or CPC.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Record Administration or Health Information Management/Technology is NOT required! YTI Career Institute offers a faculty credentialing program to further your education!
