Description



The Department of Clinical Sciences invites applications for a post-DVM, three-year term appointment as an Instructor in support of the curriculum in the College of Veterinary Medicine, a world-class teaching facility . Responsibilities are many and varied. The successful candidate will provide support for the Foundation Course V (Animal Health and Disease) and assist with all laboratory components of Foundation Course VII and Foundation Course V - affiliated elective courses. The successful candidate will work with a faculty curriculum design group, course leaders and with numerous individual faculty. Specific duties include scheduling and organizing Foundation Course V (a 30 credit, 2 semester, medicine and surgery course); providing logistical support for faculty; assisting faculty in developing, administering, and grading examinations; developing, revising, and distributing course materials; serving as coordinator for associated laboratory exercises; working within a variety of educational laboratory settings with faculty, students, and technical staff. Candidate must have a desire to teach and interact with veterinary students and a strong commitment to providing the highest quality education.




A DVM or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to applicants with large animal, preferably equine, clinical practice experience. Excellent organizational skills, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently and to manage diverse tasks efficiently are required. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with a variety of individuals including faculty, staff, students and administration, and with large groups of the same.
