Summary:
This position requires experience with interactive programming for the web such as applications, surveys and other functions needed by the college.  Development for the Webadvisor product used for online services is a major job function, as is integration with Campus Cruiser, the college’s portal system.  The person in this position will be responsible for analyzing written and oral requests from requestors within the institution, determining the best method to provide the requested functionality and then implementing the solution.  Interviewing users and working on teams to solve problems is a required component of the job. The person in this position must be able to learn the Envison programming language so that support of the college’s online registration system, Webadvisor, is possible. Creation and maintenance of SQL or Access databases is required. He/she is responsible for checking the accuracy of data as well as writing and maintaining documentation procedures for all requests.  One year of experience in web programming is required for this position.  He/she must be able to learn new programming languages and/or software as needed in the future.  This individual makes recommendations for software and hardware needed to perform tasks quickly and completely.  Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications: 
One year minimum experience writing and maintaining programs for the web is required, two or more are preferred.  Candidates selected for interviews must bring a portfolio of currently working web applications.
Must have a working understanding of data concepts,  cascading style sheets, IIS 6 and Sun One Webserver 6 setup and administration, database construction and maintainence.
A bachelor’s degree in a computer/technology degree program is preferred.  Other degrees will be considered with significant work experience.
Knowledge of HTML, XML, Javascript, ASP.NET 2.0, FLEX, ActionScript or other web programming software is essential.
Knowledge of IIS 6 server setup and administration is preferred.
Must be able to handle several projects concurrently and work under pressure.
Must be able to meet deadlines and insure state and federal reports are ready when needed.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to interpret and apply College policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Must have the ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
