Office Manager - PART TIME

For 60 years, Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D), a national nonprofit, volunteer organization, has been the leading producer of accessible educational materials for students with disabilities such as visual impairment or dyslexia that make reading standard print difficult or impossible. http://www.rfbd.org/ 

POSITION: Office Manager

REPORTS TO: Unit Executive

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To manage the Northern California Unit office, to provide administrative support to the Unit Executive and other professional staff, and to assist in the general operations of the Northern California Unit.

PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVES:Maintains general office operations and systems, including office supply inventory, petty cash administration; approval and coding of invoices; organization of vendor records, ordering of supplies and literature from HQ, office telephone systems management, office building and equipment maintenance management, and interface with office building landlord. Provides clerical support to Unit Executive and Development Staff in fundraising activities, including solicitations to donors, preparation of grant proposals for mailing to funders, and recording and mailing donor gifts and grants to Headquarters or other central processing location. Provides clerical support to Unit Executive in Board management, public relations, and other functions by typing and mailing appropriate correspondence and reports. Prepares necessary materials for board meetings; records meeting minutes and types and mails minutes and other correspondence to Board members. Provides primary telephone coverage of unit; processes requests for general information; refers other inquiries to appropriate Unit staff. Oversees administrative volunteers to complete fund raising mailings and collation and mailing of informational kits in support of outreach efforts; provides support to Sales and Outreach staff for major mailings, member services support and other projects as required. Participates in other Unit office activities as needed, including studio clerical support; and performs other assignments upon request of Unit Executive.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:3-5 years experience as an Executive Assistant or Office Manager Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint Self motivated, high energy level and willingness to learn and grow. Superb organizational skills Non-profit experience preferred Bachelor's degree preferred
