Operations Manager, iQ Academy Washington
Job Summary:
The Manager, iQ Academy Washington is KCDL’s management representative on site for iQ Academy, Washington. The Operations Manager will serve as a single point of contact for information flowing to and from the partner, the Evergreen School District, and will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day administration of the school. The manager will work in cooperation with the liaison appointed by the school district to oversee all activities of the program including program planning, enrollment process and initiatives, data management and reporting, student support, teacher support, technical support, teacher supervision, student orientation, teacher training, and all other aspects of operating a successful online program.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
· Oversees the planning, developing, implementing and monitoring instruction, activities, and functions designed to achieve program goals.
· Serves as a liaison between district and KCDL, ensuring communication between all departments of KCDL with iQ Academy Washington.
· Coordinates the provision of identified curriculum for all core and elective courses, technical support, distribution of hardware and the payment of Internet stipends provided by KCDL.
· Ensures proper educational placement of students.
· Understands use of technology for communication and deployment of courses.
· Facilitates student accessibility to online coursework, to include oversight of student support, technical support and student orientation
· Coordinates the supervision of extra-curricular programs for students enrolled in iQ Academy Washington.
· Maintains high standards of student conduct and supports the district director in the enforcement of discipline, as necessary, according to due process to the rights of the students.
· Orients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development.
· Works with KCDL to develop marketing strategies and plans for iQ Washington Open Houses, student enrollment and orientation events.
· Maintains ongoing communications with students and parents, following the virtual education requirements of the state of Kansas.
· In cooperation with district liaison, maintains communication with other districts in Washington, as partnerships are developed for student enrollments.
· Provides for adequate inventories of property under his/her jurisdiction and for the security and accountability for that property.
· Follow up on all concerns relating to technical support for iQ Washington students and teachers and make appropriate contacts to insure adequate service is provided.
· Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
· Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
· Assist in the annual evaluation of the iQ Academy Washington program and provide leadership for making improvements, enhancements to the program.
· Other duties as assigned
Adaptability Requirements:
High-Position requires a high degree of adaptability. The Manager of iQ Academy Kansas will be faced with a variety of issues on a day to day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately.
Working Conditions:
Work to be performed in the KCDL offices in Portland and in the offices of the Evergreen School District and around the State of Washington as needed. Regular in state travel, and periodic out of state travel will be required.
Experience and Education:
· A Master’s Degree or higher with emphasis in educational administration or business management, preferred
· Two to five years experience in education or training, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of organization, and management theory and practice, required
· Knowledge of Distance Learning initiatives and related technologies, required
· Knowledge Online instructional strategies required
· Knowledge of Teaching and learning processes required
· Knowledge of Technical issues affecting the organization
