PATISSERIE AND BAKING INSTRUCTOR Job Description You've always wanted to make a difference in peoples' lives….now you can!Western Culinary Institute is currently seeking a full-time Instructor for our Patisserie & Baking program. The Instructor is responsible for providing high quality academic and lab instruction, the orientation of students to the subject, evaluation and grading of students, and providing a positive learning environment.PATISSERIE AND BAKING INSTRUCTOR Portland, ORResponsibilities: Responsible for both the in-class and out-of-class activities of the students under their instruction. Identify "At Risk" students and communicate this to the P&B Chair for further action. Responsible for the safety and sanitation of the lab/kitchen, classroom, equipment and students within their area of instruction. Follow the subject curriculum so as to create a consistent education for every student. Develop and administer written and practical tests related to the information being covered within the class. Evaluate the students' ability to comprehend, perform and retain the information and practical techniques being covered. Ensure a high degree of professionalism exists within the classroom/lab, and to demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, leadership, respect and guidance Maintain all budgetary requirements within their area of instruction. Timely and accurate submission of student grades, attendance and records to the appropriate departments.Requirements: Associates degree. Minimum of 3 years experience directly related to coursework taught. Ideally, at least 1 year teaching experience or previous Teacher Assistant position at a community college level or above. Leadership, communication skills and technical ability to relay information to students in a manner that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession as a whole.
