PRODUCTION ARTIST

 

Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) is a legal publisher and continuing legal education provider serving primarily lawyers practicing in California. CEB is part of the University of California, cosponsored by the State Bar.  Employees receive full University benefits. This is a part-time position at 60% time (three days a week) in the graphics production department. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Graphics Services Supervisor, the production artist performs prepress production (e.g., electronic paste-up); design of publications and other products; scanning and editing images; web design and signage. 

            REQUIREMENTS:  Previous related work experience. Experience with type; proficiency/expertise in the newest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark.  Skilled in design. Familiarity and knowledge with web design.  Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to interact with staff effectively and communicate to various internal departments.  Strong time management and organizational skills; and must be detail oriented. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
